Prof. C N Walpita is a highly accomplished biologist and aquaculture expert with a strong thyroid hormone research and developmental biology background. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven), Belgium, where he studied the influence of Thyroid Hormones on embryonic development using zebrafish as a teleost model. His research involved gene knock-down, gene expression analysis, and hormone and deiodinase enzyme assays.
With a Master's degree in Aquaculture from Ghent University, Belgium, Prof. Walpita gained recognition as the year's top student, excelling in research on thyroid hormone production and peripheral deiodination in the Nile tilapia.
